Goldendoodle History

It is believed that the Goldendoodle’s origin is linked to that of the Labradoodle. The Labradoodle was first bred in Australia so that you can serve with individuals with allergies. The Labradoodle was an nearly instant success and diverse breeding options were used to produce a variety of diverse size of Goldendoodles by using typical sized poodles as well as smaller varieties. today this breed remains quite popular and is especially helpful with individuals who suffer from allergies due to the fact that many Goldendoodles tend to be hypoallergenic. they also continue to serve as handbook dogs as well. They have remained popular throughout Australia and North America since around the middle 1990’s and continue to remain popular and well loved family dogs.

Goldendoodle Description

The Goldendoodle was developed by crossing a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. the way it looks varies. Most types have a coat that is either short and curly or long and shaggy. The coat of the shaggy types is long all throughout the body. The long fur also covers the face, nearly obstructing the eyes. The head is comparable in size to the sleep of the body. The ears are medium size and hang low at the sides of the head. The eyes and nose are dark. The nose is large. For the short and curly type Goldendoodle, the coat is close to the body and tightly curled. The muzzle is lengthier than on the shaggy type. The ears for this type are long and hang low.The tail tends to be more puffy at the tail and front legs.

Goldendoodle Temperament

Some breeders prefer to restrict breeding to first generation (F1)dogs so that you can maximize genetic diversity, and thus try to avoid the inherited health problems that have plagued many dog breeds. Other breeders maintain that a Backcross Goldendoodle is less likely to shed, and may therefore be more suitable for people with allergies to fur and/or dander. The offspring of a F1B cross are genetically 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. still other breeders are attempting to take this one step further and develop the Goldendoodle as a breed via selective breeding.

Goldendoodle Care

Both the Poodle and Golden Retrievers breeds can suffer from hip dysplasia. therefore an OFA or PennHIP examination is required to check for this problem before dogs are bred. the two breeds can also suffer from many inheritable eye disorders, so it is important that annual CERF (Canine eye Registration Foundation) exams are performed before breeding.

Goldendoodle Grooming

A Goldendoodle will normally require frequent grooming due to the fact that the coat may become easily tangled. for that most part, the Goldendoodle is a low to no-shedding dog. This dog does need to be exercised on a typical basis so that you can maintain good health. The dog should be bathed as essential whenever the coat becomes dirty. Brushing before bathing may help to avoid the coat from becoming snarled.

Goldendoodle Training

The Goldendoodle is extremely eager to please and enjoys learning. optimistic reinforcement, Consistancy and repetition is the key to effective training. Goldendoodles do not respond well to harsh training methods.
